The latest 2013 NFL mock draft from SB Nation was a collaborative effort between Matthew Fairburn and Dan Kadar. The two traded off picks, adding a different dynamic to this week’s mock draft.

Although the setup of the mock draft changed, the Detroit Lions still ended up with a defensive end. This time around, the Lions received Florida State’s Bjoern Werner with Texas A&M’s Damontre Moore going to the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 4.

I still am of the opinion that the Lions are going to end up with whichever top defensive end is there when they go on the clock at No. 5. I’d be pretty surprised if both Werner and Moore are gone before the Lions even get to pick, and I’m just struggling to see any other legitimate options at this point. I do think No. 5 is too high for Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner, and quite honestly, nobody else really jumps out as a pick that would make sense for the Lions.

This could all change with the NFL Combine in a month, of course, but as it stands right now, a defensive end makes the most sense to me.
