Michigan State freshman guard Gary Harris earned his third Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor of the season, the conference office announced Monday, Feb. 18. In the two games this week, he averaged 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in a pair of wins against Michigan and Nebraska. Harris shot 57.9% from the field, including 7-for-12 from the 3-point arc.

Harris scored a team-high 17 points against No. 4 Michigan on Tuesday, adding three assists and three steals in 29 minutes. He went 5-for-9 from 3-point. On the road against Nebraska on Saturday, Harris finished with 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting, adding four rebounds and one steal.

Overall and in conference play, Harris leads all Big Ten freshman in scoring averaging 13.4 points in Big Ten play and 12.9 points on the season. He is also the leading freshman in the conference in steals with 1.3 per game and a season total of 32.

He is currently fourth in the Big Ten shooting 44.2% from the 3-point range, connecting on 50-of-113 on the season. In conference play, Harris is second shooting 53.0% and has made the most 3-point field goals in the Big Ten with 35.

This marks the third Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor for Harris (Nov. 19 and Dec. 10).
