The game clock struck Tebow Time a bit earlier than expected on Friday night.
The most scrutinized and lionized third-string signal caller in the NFL made his debut for the New England Patriots in the second quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles after Tom Brady’s understudy, Ryan Mallet, left the game following a hard hit.
Cue the exclamation points from Bristol…
TEBOW TIME! Tim Tebow enters game for Patriots at QB after Ryan Mallett takes nasty hit.

After taking the reins of the Patriots’ offense on 1st and 10 from their own 45-yard line, Tebow promptly threw two incompletions. On 3rd and 10, he was sacked for a 10-yard loss.
In his second series, Tebow managed to complete his first pass for New England before halftime.

Back on the field for the third quarter, Tebow helped Legarrette Blount lead the Patriots on an 8-play, 57-yard touchdown drive.
Tebow leads Pats on TD drive. Or one more TD drive than he led the Jets on all last year. Pre- or regular season.

Getting an extended audition to earn a roster spot thanks to Mallet’s apparent injury, Tebow finished 4-12 passing for 55 yards and no scores or interceptions. He also rushed four times for 31 yards.
With numbers like those, it was Tebow Time as usual for his critics, supporters and those media members just bemused by the spectacle of it all.
Tebow on naked roll. Brain melts. Takes sack. #PatriotsTalk

Watching Patriots offense go from Brady to Mallett to Tebow was like the Majors to Double A to Junior High

The Twitter version of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a Tebow Time Tweet.
Yeah, even we did it.

Tebow is to the NFL as Jimmy Carter was to the presidency. Good guys that sucked at their real job. This ain’t HFH.
