Maria Sharapova joined Twitter earlier this month and her feed has been a refreshing addition to the barren wasteland of athlete accounts. She’s only tweeted 14 times, but the content is reflective of the woman behind it: selective, commercial and served with a touch of acerbic wit.
The tennis star has over 100,000 people following her, but has a select list of 30 people she follows. Twenty-nine of those 30 demonstrate Sharapova’s highbrow taste and image. One does not.
Chances are, if you find the most pretentious Facebook friend you have, he or she probably follows half these accounts too.
